In his career spanning over thirty decades, he has performed 1000 operations related to liver and Gastrointestinal Surgery including Laparoscopic surgery.
He spearheaded the team that was responsible for setting up the Department of GI Surgery at PSRI, New Delhi.
He takes interest in teaching and has served as Professor of Surgery at GTB Hospital, New Delhi.
He participated in Liver transplantation Surgery at Apollo Hospital held on 15th September 2006.
He was the recipient of the President’s appreciation award at IMA South Delhi Annual Convention in Jan’09.
He is a member of several prestigious associations that include Association of Surgeons of India, Delhi chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India, Indian Society of Gastroenterology, Indian Association of Surgical Gastroenterology, Indian Association of Endoscopic Gastro surgeons of India, South Delhi branch of the Indian Medical Association.
He was the Secretary of the Consultant forum of Apollo hospital till March’09 and organized lots of activities in the forum.
As the Convenor of “Delhi GI Surgeons club” from 1999-2008, he organized clinical meetings regularly in different departments of surgical Gastroenterology in Delhi.He is interested in research and has published papers in noted journals. He has also penned chapters in books.
